University Professors Paid a Study Visit to Austria

Professors Nadiya Lutsan and Anna Struk from the Faculty of Education at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, together with the team of the Erasmus+ Cooperation Project “mentUwell – Preserving Youth Mental Wellbeing in the Wartime Migration Crisis,” took part in a study visit to Austria.

At the beginning of the visit, participants were welcomed by Dr. Nils Grolitsch, Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Klagenfurt, who is making significant efforts to draw international attention to the need for increased support for Ukrainians during the war.

They gained many positive impressions from their communication with specialists from CARITAS, OIF, and Vobis integration centers, which provide psychological and social support to children, adolescents, and parents to help them adapt and integrate into the European Union. Under the guidance of these organizations, a wide range of Ukrainian literature for children and young people is being published, including Nazovni and Pro tuhu ta Batkivshchynu.

The meeting with participants of Sprachcafé, where volunteers support young people’s integration in a relaxed environment through language learning, was particularly informative and inspiring.

We were pleasantly impressed by the modern facilities of the University of Klagenfurt, where we had the opportunity to learn about various methods and approaches to working with migrants.

We express our sincere gratitude to Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University for the opportunity to take part in such important projects during this challenging yet crucial time for all of us — both as scholars and as citizens of Ukraine. We are also deeply thankful to our Austrian partners for their warm hospitality, inspiring ideas, and commitment to continued cooperation.

This project is being implemented by Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University in cooperation with the following partner institutions: WSB Academy (Akademia WSB, Poland), Mykolas Romeris University (Mykolo Romerio Universitetas, Lithuania), Finnish Educational Advisory Center (Fin Edu Consult Oy, Finland), University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca (Universitatea de Artă și Design din Cluj-Napoca, Romania), Professional Training Institution (ENAIP Veneto Impresa Sociale, Italy), Cooperative Society for Project Research (Studio Progetto Società Cooperativa Sociale, Italy), and the Center for the Development of Entrepreneurial Competences (European Center of Entrepreneurship Competence & Excellence, Austria).

The project will continue until 2025.
