Lack of professional equipment and a lack of the qualified personnel are the main obstacles to the establishment of modern and effective alpine rescue service in Ukraine. That is why the implementation of the project of adaptation of the building of the International Research Center “Observatory” for rescuers will provide the necessary infrastructure and technical means for the creation of a training center that will work on Mount Pip Ivan in winter. It will provide an opportunity to train the rescuers not only from Ukraine but also from other countries of the Carpathian region. This was announced by Lyubov Zyniuk the head of the Projects management department of the Precarpathian National University, the manager of the European project of cross-border cooperation Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2014-2020 «Adaptation of former observatory on the Pope Ivan mountain to the needs of alpine rescue service training center»at the IV Forum of Local Development, which took place on June 25-27 in Truskavets.
She took part in the panel discussion “Transborder Cooperation as an Instrument for improving the security of the Ukrainian-Polish Borderland”. There were also discussed the measures that are being or will be carried out within the framework of the Program for improving security at the border areas.
