Training on Project Proposal Writing for European Competitions Held at Carpathian University

 

On June 26, 2025, the Project Management Office in collaboration with the National Contact Point for Horizon Europe – Joint Research Centre at Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University conducted a training for academic staff focused on developing competitive project proposals for European funding programs.

The event brought together researchers from various departments and disciplines, creating an inspiring environment for knowledge-sharing and collaboration.

The training aimed to:
• Increase awareness of EU funding opportunities;
• Provide practical tools for preparing strong project proposals;
• Encourage the formation of interdisciplinary and interdepartmental
project teams aligned with the university’s strategic priorities.

The event was opened by First Vice-Rector Valentyna Yakubiv, who emphasized the importance of active participation in international initiatives. The informative part of the training covered the main topics:
• Strategic priorities of European programs and current challenges;
• Partner search strategies;
• Erasmus+ KA2 structure and Jean Monnet opportunities for Ukrainian
HEIs;
• Basics of proposal writing and budgeting.

The session featured contributions from: Tetiana Solodzhuk, Head of the Project Management Office, Associate Professor of Finance; Liubomyr Nykyruy, Head of the Department of Physics and Astronomy, NCP Horizon Europe – JRC Coordinator; Nadiia Klykailo, Senior Project Specialist. A highlight was the inspiring presentation by Prof. Volodymyra Boichuk, who shared the case of the Space Ready project implemented by the Department of Applied Physics and Materials Science.

In the second part of the training, participants worked in small groups to brainstorm and develop concepts for joint interdisciplinary projects.
