“Capacity Building for Post-Graduate Conference Interpreters’ Training at PNU – 2023-2024”

During the academic year 2023-2024, Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University will execute the project titled “Capacity Building for Post-Graduate Conference Interpreters’ Training at PNU – 2023-2024” under the grant agreement with the European Parliament (2023-2024).
The grant program’s objective, outlined in the bilateral agreement between PNU and the Directorate for Logistics and Conference Interpreting of the European Parliament (DG LINC), is to foster the training of proficient interpreters capable of working within the EU institutions as accredited conference interpreters.
The project is being carried out at the Department of English Philology, involving teachers-practitioners of oral translation as participants.
As part of the project, there are plans to implement measures for updating educational programs in alignment with EU standards, augmenting the number of academic hours dedicated to teaching conference interpreting, organizing study visits to universities teaching conference interpreting, and procuring interpretation equipment for practical classes with students.
The project receives financial support from the European Parliament.
